The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS)\u00a0is now encouraging youngsters to apply for the academic year ahead. Following the turbulent times experienced during lockdown, universities and TVET colleges are offering students the chance to follow their dreams amid this global pandemic. The registration period opened earlier this month.<\/p>\n

HOW TO APPLY, THE REGISTRATION PROCESS, AND SECURING A BURSARY<\/h2>\n

METHOD 1: On the NSFAS website (if you wish to apply online, follow the instructions below)<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Create your myNSFAS account here: https:\/\/my.nsfas.org.za\/mynsfas\/selfservice.html<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. You will be required to provide the following information when registering an account: username, password, ID number, cellphone number and email address<\/li>\n
  3. You can then login using your selected username and password<\/li>\n
  4. Complete the application form by clicking the \u201capply\u201d button<\/li>\n
  5. When you have filled in all the required information (do not leave any fields blank), you can upload electronic copies of your supporting documents (as listed below). Once all your documents have been uploaded, click the \u201csubmit\u201d button to receive your reference number<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    METHOD 2: At your closest NYDA Centre<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Visit a NYDA centre\/ office closest to you<\/li>\n
    2. A NYDA centre worker will explain the application process and provide you with an application form to complete<\/li>\n
    3. Complete the application form in CAPITAL letters with a black pen and sign it in the allocated spots<\/li>\n
    4. Hand in your application form and supporting documents (as listed below). Ensure that your supporting documents are certified on the front of the page and not be older than 3 months.<\/li>\n
    5. You will receive a receipt card with a bar code attached<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      METHOD 3: At a Financial Aid Office on campus\/ computer lab<\/strong><\/p>\n

      IMPORTANT:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

      Students with disabilities and students who are beneficiaries of social grants automatically qualify for NSFAS funding.<\/p>\n

      Students wanting to study towards postgraduate qualifications do not qualify for NSFAS funding \u2013 you are encouraged to seek funding from the National Skill Fund and the National Research Foundation.<\/p>\n
